Online Meetings: Wednesdays 2:00 – 3:00 PM and Thursdays 2:00 – 3:00 PM (EDT) [2 different sections]
6 weeks (July 8/9 – August 12/13)
The sun is out, restaurants are closed, and it’s time to find some birds. This summer’s ornithology class will be capitalizing on our societies unique situation by empowering campers to find and correctly identify birds WHEREVER they live. Birds are everywhere and really interesting species and important data can be collected even in the most urban home environments.
We, Zane Bernard (left) and Payton Palmerton, will talk about identifying birds by song, by sight, by habitat and with or without binoculars. Perhaps most excitingly, we will be taking advantage of the ability to use technology this summer by making extensive use of E-Bird, the online citizen science bird database.
So join us in a friendly competition and adventure, to find cool birds and swap stories from the field!
